Announcement

With the 2025 Scottish “Borders” Hill Rally just over two months away, we want to update you on recent developments before entries open next week.

Late last week we were informed of significant changes within the team at Forrest Estate, as well as a shift in the direction they are taking with regard to motorsport on their land.

We are currently working to clarify what this means for this year’s event and are working with the landowner to present an updated proposal in the hope of securing an agreement to run.

We will share a further update as soon as there is more news.

Defender Rally Series support the Scottish Summer Hill Rally

The Defender Rally Series, run by Bowler Motors, are proud to announce their support of the Scottish Summer Hill Rally 2024. The third round of the Series will be at the Scottish Summer Hill Rally, where their excited teams will race against up to 60 other competitive crews, taking to the hills of the Scottish Borders, in the ultimate test for drivers and cars.

The Defender Rally Series Partnered with Tata Elxsi showcases the Defender’s highly durable and reliable all-terrain capability in this highly challenging and competitive event. This is an ideal partnership to demonstrate what a production vehicle with specialist rally preparation can achieve in full-on cross-country conditions.

Calum McKechnie, General Manager at Bowler Motors, commented, “We are proud to continue to support the Scottish Summer Hill Rally event this year as the Defender Rally Series, reflecting its growth and exciting future ahead. Our renewed sponsorship of the Scottish Summer Hill Rally celebrates our commitment to supporting events that celebrate the spirit of unstoppable
adventure and partnerships in motorsport.” Based in the grounds of the historic Thirlestane Castle in Lauder, one of the oldest and finest inhabited castles in Scotland, the Scottish Summer Hill Rally will start on the Castle Esplanade at 1000 on Saturday 1 June, with the competitors travelling some 200 miles on and off road before finishing back at Thirlestane on Sunday afternoon.
